S(he) Be(lie)ve(d)

Love ? What is that word ?
Why does forever seem so short ?
holding in the tears til you feel a sting in your throat .
Thinking about the memories
and all the things you’ve been though .
Imagining life without them
and starting something new .
Your biggest fear was losing them
and now the day has come .
To forget all the memories
since they’re already gone .
It’s only been two weeks ,
but it feels like twenty years .
If only that person new about
the sobs and lonely tears </3
Everyday that passes ,
you miss them even more
It hurt to think that someday ,
They’ll love someone else , more .
You feel the urge to write them ,
message them or call them
but what’s the point in doing so ,
You can no longer love them .
But you still won’t give up .
Cause no one loves them like you do .
And you know that someday ,
They’ll be coming back to you .

  1. Wow, Luz, really powerful stuff. You know what I really like about this poem (other than the amazingly awesome and creative title)? It's how universal it is. Like, I know you're talking probobally about a specific event that happend to you...but the way this is worded, makes it really easy for your reader to connect with. I don't think there are many people that in some way won't be able to relate to this. For me, this poem brings me back to a middle school girlfriend. Hmm. Must be something about middle school, I guess. Great job, and thanks for posting this! Write on!

  2. I agree in part with Mr. Fulton. It made him thing of a middle school girlfriend (grrrrr) but it made me think of death, losing someone you love.

It is universal and multilayered. I love it, almost as much as I love mi luz.
